Table experiments for Ashiana restaurant
We currently develop a new design for dining table, as we said in our previous posts.
Ashiana Restaurant asked for a “facelift” of the interior, starting changing the tables. They will renounce to use the basic white table cloth, instead of a UNIQUE DESIGN TABLE.
Will we make them to change it?
Let’s see!
Like every restaurant, the table has to be easy to clean, food-proof, resistant to disinfectant, durable, ergonomically designed and so on.
The VERSATILITY is very important in restaurants like Ashiana with various events like Charity parties, Birthday parties, Weddings, Christenings celebrations etc. The owner is really decided for square/rectangular tables. In this way, the space will be maximized and the staff will easily manage the layout of the restaurant. Ozi (the owner) said is very very careful in his life. So now, he wants creativity, not SF. That’s why he opted for a basic shape. But, square table, are very often met in various restaurant, fast foods etc.
So, how are we going to GET OUT FROM BANALITY?
We already chose the material for the top of the table, with Ozi. We decided to be GLASS. It respects every condition of a restaurant table, it’s elegant, precious and quite warm.
Hmmm…glass?! But we’ve seen square glass table several times.
We are in the middle of making experiments and samples, starting with the top of the table, which is the most important and visible by clients as well.
We started PAINTING the GLASS in VARIOUS COLOURS, VARIOUS TECHNIQUES.
This colour is SPECIAL BALCK, with FINE SILVER INSERTIONS. It’s very reflective and in the same time glitzy, like pakistani women tend to be dressed. Ozi is already content with this sample, being very “careful”, how he described himself. But of course, we can’t wait for the next chalenging colours, processes for glass.
Ozi suggested to be a simple glass table, thinking it would be a better result. Oh, not really! Now, we come up with the idea of a special FRAME TABLE. Why is it special? Because it’s a mix between wood and metal. This process appeared on the market very recently! And we have the oportunity to use it! Already!
How does this process work? It’s a COATING WOOD PROCESS. You can choose whatever type of wood you want and can be covered with metal. It can be partially covered – only the graines of the wood, or completely covered by metal. Any kind of metal. Pure metal.
And if you want to check it, you can use a magnet and will be attracted. Really fantastic! BRONZE, ALUMINIUM, LEAD, COPPER, ZINC, BRASS etc.
You have the same effect of the metal, you really use the metal, but in a smaller quantity. So much cheaper!
So now, we created an elegant top table sample with black glass and bronze frame.
